A Chinese Bronze Figure of Guandi, probably 19th c., the bearded God of War modeled seated on a rectangular throne holding a long spear in one hand, wearing voluminous robes relief decorated with dragons and clouds, figure height 14 7/8 in., width 6 3/4 in., depth 7 1/4 in., height with spear 17 5/8 in.
- Provenance: Provenance : Washington Collector: acquired by descent in the family of Zhao Xiwu (1918-2001), well-known herbal medicine practitioner in Beijing.
