A Chinese Celadon and Russet Jade Figure of a Mythical Beast, modeled in a crouching stance with its neck and head turned over its back side, the pebble carved along the division of the beast's bifurcated tail cleverly exposing the celadon on one side and the gold-flaked russet skin on the other, height 3 1/2 in., width 4 3/8 in. Provenance: New Orleans, LA Collection, acquired c. 1990 from a West Coast Japanese art dealer."
