Ward", mid-19th Century 81/2 in. x 101/2 in., in a fine molded and gilded period frame; Elspeth Dixon (Scottish b. 1910), "Farm Cottage at Portincaple, Argyllshire", oil on artist's board, signed lower right, 7 in. x 11 in.; English School, mid-19th Century "View of an Alpine Village and Lake", indistinctly inscribed ( in English), initialed and dated "C.E. (?) June 1840" en verso, oil on artist's board, 41/2 in. x 51/2 in., in antique giltwood frame (the frame inscribed "Eastbourne" probably with reference to the surname of the artist); "A Pair of Rustic Landscapes with Figures", each signed "Wilson" at lower left, oils on copper, each sight 41/2 in. x 8 1/4 in , in modern velvet- lined shadowbox frames, bearing tags (written in Italian) of La Boite des Arts. E1000-1500 Provenance: Purchased by LSU Professor Edwin A. Davis and his artist wife LaVerna Rowe Davis during a trip to the United Kingdom and the Continent in 1965.
