A Continental Fan and a Japanese Fan, the first, 19th c., with painted and pierced ivory sticks supporting silk leaves painted with figures in an outdoor landscape, signed "Serand", height 16 1/2 in., width 24 1/4 in.; the second, early 20th c., with gilt decorated and mother-of-pearl inset black lacquer sticks supporting silk leaves painted with figures in a watery landscape, height 18 in., width 27 3/4 in.; each mounted within a shaped giltwood shadowbox frame.
