A Continental Quatrefoil-Form Jewel Mounted Silverplate Box, unmarked probably Eastern Europe, late 19th century., in the Renaissance Revival manner, oval miniature of Louis XIV mounted on hinged cover and framed by a wide reticulated foliate scroll band set with various paste jewels, "malachite" enamel and edged with an "amethyst" border, the sides and base with hand-chased scrolling foliage, grotesque mask, winged figures, urn and small vacant rectangular reserve, height 1. 75in., 7 in. x 6 in.
