A Fine American Carved Rosewood and White Marble Dressing Bureau, c.1850, Baltimore or Philadelphia, exuberantly carved mirror supports above the original marble, found in rich dark color, old finish, the lower case with a centered pair of deep drawers, height 78in., length51.5in., width 25.5 in. E2500-3500 Note: Less flamboyant than contemporary pieces from New York, the present dressing bureau incorporates carved cresting and exuberant foliate scrolls very like those appearing on Baltimore furniture of the period.
