A Fine American Classical Carved Rosewood Piano Stool, c. 1825, Baltimore, upholstered circular adjustable seat above a "basket of fruit" carved standard on a giltwood collar, the incurvate triangular plinth on acanthus paw feet, raised on the brass gliders, original black horsehair upholstery, height 28 in., depth 14 1/2 in.
- Notes: Note: Baltimore carvers favored the "basket of fruit" design for standards. A center table with identical carved support is conserved by the Carroll Mansion in Baltimore, Maryland.
