A Fine American Federal "Santo Domingan" Mahogany and Birch Four Poster Bedstead, c. 1820, New York or Massachusetts, the turned tapering head posts headed by an urn with ball finial connected by shaped headboard, the foot posts topped with acanthus carved urn and ball finial, finely reeded with water leaf and lamb's tongue waist carving, raised on urn legs and brass capped feet, height 88 in., width 58 in., length 79 in.
