A Fine American Neo-Grec Gilt and Ebonized Cherrywood Slipper Chair, c. 1865, New York, the foliate crest centered by a gilt metal figural medallion and flanked by modified anthemion corners on C-scroll stiles, the bowed seat on anthemion-carved goat legs ending in hoof feet with wood casters, the whole with incised gilt decoration, height 36.25in.
