A Fine American Renaissance Carved and Ebonized Walnut Parlor Suite, late 19th c., bearing the stamp of George Hunzinger, New York, comprising a pair of armchairs and a sofa, each of architectonic form with anthemion crests, scroll, blocked and reeded stiles, pendant fruit clusters, rectangular backs above incurvate button-tufted arms terminating in bosses, pierced demilune apron, canted front legs joined by stretcher, hoof feet, casters, sofa length 64 in.

  • Notes: Note: Parlor suites by Hunzinger, similar to the lot offered here, have been conserved by a number of collections including The National Trust at Lyndhurst (Tarrytown, New York) and the Strong Museum in Rochester, New York.
