A Fine American Rococo Carved Rosewood Dressing-Bureau, mid-19th c., attributed to Mitchell and Rammelsberg, extensive floral crest above an arched mirror frame and paired glove drawers, original white marble on serpentine front case of four drawers, height 123in., width 50in., depth 25 in. E6000-7500 Note: The Century of Revivals, Nineteenth Century American Furniture in the Newark Museum Exhibition Catalog illustrates on pg. 37 a documented Mitchell and Rammelsberg dressing bureau with several nearly identical features -notably the trailing floral and berry carvings mounted on the mirror frame and the three-quarter round fluted columns which flank the drawers. The dressing bureau being offered is lined with cedar, as is the illustrated example.
