A Fine American Ship Model of the H.M.S. Bounty, made by Edward A. de la Cruz, 1987, finely detailed carved and painted wood, cord, wire and cast metal, on a base modeled as an authentic ship launch, presented with a custom Plexiglas cover, height 42 in., width 52 in., depth 19 in., case height 45 1/2 in., width 53 1/2 in., depth 23 1/2 in.
- Notes: Note: Edward A. de la Cruz (Guatemalan, b. 1920) has achieved worldwide acclaim as a painter, sculptor and model maker. His creations of miniature towns, buildings and ships have been seen in movies, shows and many private and institutional collections around the world. His credits have included Florida Disney World, "David and Goliath" and many others. The H.M.S. Historical Society commissioned a model and, locally, his work may be seen in the Money Hill Country Club, Abita Springs, LA.
