A Fine and Large Japanese Imari Bowl, Meiji period, 19th century, in underglaze blue, overglaze enamels and gilt, the exterior and interior each with two finely detailed scenes of a terraced garden with figures continuing into a riverscape and garden, divided by scrolling and diapered cloud forms, below gilt foliage reserved with iron red and gilt foliate lozenges, central roundel of scrolling cloudforms, mons, and lions surrounded by further cell diapering reserved with flora, diameter 15.75in.
