A Fine Edwardian Chinese Chippendale-Style Carved Mahogany Cabinet, late 19th/early 20th c., probably London, with pagoda superstructure over glazed doors with shaped mullions, flanking galleried shelves, icicle and rocaille carved apron, square tapering legs, distinctive feet, height 79 in., width 54 1/2 in., depth 14 in.

- Notes: Note: The historicised form and fine cabinetry seen in this lot are indicative of a high end English firm, and incorporate many elements seen in sources from the 18th c. including feet from a "China Case" design in Thomas Chippendale's 1753 The Gentleman's & Cabinetmaker's Director, pl. CXXXV and a number of Chinese "pagoda" cabinets installed in great houses, including a padouk and giltwood cabinet installed in Kenure Park, Ireland.
