A Fine Empire Gilt Bronze-Mounted Mahogany Buffet, late 19th c., stamped "C. Marchand", rectangular gris de St. Anne marble top, fitted long drawer over doors with urn mounts, shelf interior, plinth base, height 38 1/2 in., width 43 in., depth 19 3/4 in.

  • Notes: Note: Charles-Joseph Marchand received maitre designation in 1789. His firm was continued by son Louis-Edouard (fl. 1815-1852), and then by Andre Lemoyne and his son Henri until 1893.
