A Fine Empire Oval Miniature on Ivory of "Mme. Victoire Couchois, née Cordier (c. 1789-1828)", documented in a mid-19th c. inscription on vellum, en verso, as having died at age 38 on January 6th, 1828 in Wilmington (NC? or DE?), apparently unsigned, sight 3 in. x 2 1/2 in., in a period ebonized wood frame, with a finely-tooled gilt bronze liner.
