A Fine English Chinoiserie Porcelain Tea Bowl and Saucer, both pieces marked in underglaze blue "S" for Thomas Turner's "Salopian China Warehouse", London, late 18th c., the characteristic Chinoiserie décor in underglaze blue, imitating contemporaneous Worcester work, height of cup 2 in., diameter of saucer 5 in. Reference: F. Litchfield, Pottery and Porcelain (New York, 1950), pp. 54-56, this mark, p. 55.
