A Fine Federal Mahogany Drop-Leaf Table, early 19th c., mid-Atlantic, bearing ink inscription "de la part Mme Thomas" and lengthy pencil inscription listed below; drop-leaf top with reeded edge, two drawer case, reeded and turned legs, brass cuff casters, fine flame veneer overall, height 27 3/4 in., width 21 3/4 in.

  • Provenance: Provenance: Pencil inscription on drawer reads "Capt. O.M. Smith Bought at New Orleans, LA., Feb. 9th 1894 This table was made in France many years ago. It was brought to this country and was owned by Mr. Stanton in his plantation near Vicksburg, Miss. It was sold at auction at New Orleans, LA., Feb. 9th, 1894, and purchased by Capt. OM Smith. Mrs. Hennesy".
