A Fine New Orleans Coin Silver Cup, Adolph Himmel for Hyde & Goodrich, New Orleans, 1853-61, incise marks "HYDE & GOODRICH" in arch above "H" above "NEW ORLEANS" in a complementary arch, seamed cylindrical body with applied beaded lip and foot bands, hollowcast scroll handle, rococo repousse cartouche opposite the handle bearing script initials "J.H.C." for J.H. Carpenter of Dunleith Plantation, Natchez, Mississippi, height 3 1/2 in., weight 3.55 troy ozs. Provenance: Estate of Leslie Carpenter (formerly of Dunleith Plantation), sold Neal Alford Company, New Orleans, February 14, 1987, lot 187.
