A Fine Pair of American Classical Carved Mahogany Games Tables, early 19th c., each having a fold-over swivel top, one opening to an inset leather playing surface, blocked skirt, ring and acanthus-carved supports, incurvate plinth, on acanthus-carved hairy paw feet, casters, height 30 1/4 in., width 36 in., depth 17 3/4 in.
- Notes: Note: The canted corners, carved and turned supports, and winged paw feet on these tables are similar to those on a table made in New York, likely by an immigrant cabinet maker from Paris, for James Bosley, a Baltimore merchant, now conserved by the Maryland Historical Society and illustrated in Tracy, Classical America, 1815-1845, Fig. 15.
