Lot 400
A Fine Pair of American Late Federal Carved Mahogany Games Tables, c. 1815-1825, New England, the serpentine molded top and conforming skirt with carved stiles and reeded tapering legs and button feet, height 29 in., width 36.5in., depth 17.5in., extended length 36 in. E7500-8500 Note: The projecting center and outset stiles seen on this example are characteristic of those on games tables by other New England makers such as a pair of games tables in the Strawberry Banke Museum by Jonathan Judkins and William Senter (wc. 1808-1826, Portsmouth, New Hampshire) and a games table in the Sheldon Museum attributed to William Hastings (1779-1845, Middlebury, Vermont). The carving on this table, lot 400, is often associated with early 19th c. makers along the North Shore of Massachusetts.
