A Fine Pair of Belle Epoque Gilt Bronze-Mounted Rouge Royale Marble Vases, c. 1890, in the Louis XVI style, with monopodal espagnolette mounts and with finely modelled paw feet, height 18 in., width 12 in. E8000-12000 Note: 'Espagnolette' refers to the French early eighteenth century decorative bronze mount motif of a female head and bust, used on Regence and Louis XV furniture by ebenistes such as Jacques-Philippe Carel, Andre-Chalres Boulle and Etienne Doirat. Well cast examples, similar to those on the urns offered in this lot, were also used in the late 19th century by esteemed ebenistes Paul Sormani and Francois Linke.
