A Fine Pair of George III Royal Sterling Silver Poultry Dishes and Covers, by Richard Cooke (ent. 1799), London, c. 1806, rounded rectangular form with gadroon and lobed borders, engraved with the arms of Ernest Augustus (1771-1851), Duke of Cumberland and King of Hanover, height 7.75in., length 12.5in., width 9.125in., approximate weight 159.10 troy ozs. Provenance: Albert Charles Hencken (1871-1951 , Roselawn, Greenwich, CT. by descent to the present owner. Mr. Hencken began collecting Georgian silver shortly after his graduation from Princeton in 1893, and was known as a keen collector.
