A Fine Patinated Bronze Statuette of Captain Nathan Hale (1755-1776), Yale Class of 1773, reduction after the celebrated life-size statue of c. 1915 by Bela Lyon Pratt (1867-1917) on the Old Campus of Yale University, New Haven, with a replica also beside the Constitution Avenue facade of the Department of Justice in Washington, height 6 1/2 in.
Note: Nathan Hale, arrested by the British army in New York City as an American spy, spoke one of the most famous lines in American history, when he proclaimed (from the scaffold) "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country".
