Description:

A French Bronze Figure of "Diana Robing", late 19th/early 20th c., after Praxiteles, cast inscription "F. Barbedienne Foundeur", with foundry stamp, height 27 in., width 8 in., depth 7 in.

  • Notes: Note: This is a fine, professional bronze reduction of the marble now in the Louvre (1.65 m. height), executed in 1792 and exhibited in the Louvre from 1820, with a very handsome russet patina. The 4th c. B.C. original is attributed to Praxiteles, the sculptor of the "Hermes with the Infant Bacchus" found at Olympia.
