A French Empire Mahogany, Giltwood and Bronze-Mounted Marble Top Console, early 19th c., having an arched superstructure with wide frieze, classical bronze mounts, rectangular beveled mirror with contrasting burled molding, beaded inner molding, full columnar supports with gilt acanthus capitals, foliate collars, bulbous ebonized urns on blocked bases, the base with variegated grey marble top above a mounted frieze, the acanthus scrolled supports topped by giltwood lion's masks and terminating in paw feet on a rectangular burled plinth, the mirrored back flanked by giltwood acanthus carved pilasters, height 119 in., width 51 in., depth 23 in.
