A French Memento Under Glass Dome, late 19th c., representing a lyre form arbor clothed in velvet, draped with silk flowers, surrounding a tufted bed, height 21 in E400-600 Note: Designed for display of the bridal crown after the wedding ceremony, these presentations were fashionable in France from the end of the 19th c through the first World War The dome was often presented as an engagement present from the couple's godparents and the mementos such as the crown, notes, and photographs were added later.
