c. 1865, the square upholstered seat above a highly ornamented frieze decorated with pendants, paint decorated in red, blue and green on an ebony ground, the canted legs enhanced with striping and leaves, the stretchers simulating bamboo and joining a gilded three dimensional star ending in hoof feet, height 19 in., width 13 in., depth 13 in.
