A George III Pickled Pinewood and Composition Mantel, late 18th c., in the manner of Robert Adam, the molded rectangular and stepped cornice above a frieze centrally decorated with a panel displaying a basket filled with foliage and flowers and with birds framed by wreaths and sided by clusters of thistles and roses, the fluted legs headed by acanthus, height 57.5in., width 68 in., depth 6 in.
