A George IV Sterling Silver Soup Tureen, Glasgow, 1828-29, W.R. probably William Russell, oval form with side handles on conforming foot, each side with a repousse foliate scroll, floral and shell cartouche, one engraved "Presented to/John Kingrose, Esquire/President of the/Floral and Horticultural Society/by the members/as a Testimony of their esteem/for his valuable services/Cottingham May 14, 1862", ornate foliate scroll and floral borders on rim, foot and cover, height 10.5in., width 18 in., weight over 126 ozs.
