Description:

A Good American Classical Mahogany Games Table, c. 1825, Philadelphia, the foldover top above a molded frieze with patera-carved corners, the well-carved pedestal on a concave plinth raised on foliate paw feet, original surface, height 30 /4 in., width 37 in., depth 18 1/4 in.

  • Notes: Note: The distinctive foliate and lobe carved pedestal, incurvate plinth and winged paw feet on this table are very similar to those on a mahogany games table labeled by Quervelle for the Ruckman family and a mahogany breakfast table by Quervelle at the James Buchanan House, Wheatland, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
