A Good American Late Classical Carved Mahogany Secretary/Bookcase, mid-19th century., probably Southern, in two parts, the upper paneleddoors opening to adjustable serpentine shelves, distinctive fold-downdesk reveals a fitted interior with center door of Gothic design flanked by drawers and eight Gothic arched pigeonholes; the lower section having four drawers flanked by columnar pilasters supported onscroll feet, height 101.5in., width 55 in., depth 39 in.
