A Good Pair of French Gilt Bronze Carcel Lamps, c. 1850, marked "HADROT", each retaining all original burner elements and key, period shades, height 23 1/2 in., diameter 6 1/2 in.

  • Notes: Note: Bernard Guillaume Carcel (French, 1750-1818) designed a lamp with a clockwork mechanism in the base which forced the oil up to the burner. He patented this innovation in Paris, c. 1800.
