A Good Pair of Regency Patinated Bronze Argand Lamps, c. 1830, attributed to Messenger & Sons of England, for the American market, marked J & J Cox, New York, each having a reeded urn-shaped font on a foliate standard supported by an octagonal plinth decorated with applied masks and foliate decoration, with scrolled paw feet resting on conforming bases, having the original vertical cut prisms and cut and etched blown glass shades in a floral pattern, retains original surface; now electrified, height 21 in., length 14 in., width 8 in.
