A Japanese Carved Hardwood and Lacquered Shibayama-Style Four Panel Folding Screen, c. 1880-1920, the frame cresting with fabulous birds amid blossoms, the panels in cinnabar and black lacquer with applied mother-of-pearl, bone and ivory depicting a variety of birds among maple and cherry tree branches, raised on arched legs with casters, height 73 in., width 88 in. Note: some losses to mother of pearl.
