A Large American Classical Coin Silver Teapot and Covered Sugar, c. 1830s, unmarked, bearing characteristics of other tea services from the Baldwin Gardiner manufactory in New York City, each raised on lobed round body on a pedestal base, the upper lobes chased with thistles and foliage on a matte ground as well as the foot and cover, cast thistle finial, applied die-rolled borders of foliage and flowerheads, unusual cast spout of hands holding a shell, engraved script initials "G A G", teapot height 101/2 in., covered sugar height 10 in., combined weight 68 troy ozs.
