A Large English Barrister Time Recording Calendar Clock, c. 1851, signed and dated "Joseph Kaiser 1851", ebonized case, glazed sides and back, inscribed "Joseph Kaiser, 30 Park Terrace, Regents Park, London, May 1851", calendar movement signed "F. Drury, Clock Manufacturer, 27 Albert Terrace, Penton, Islington, London", height 24 in., width 19 1/2 in., depth 13 in.
- Notes: Note: Once owned by Henry Brougham, inventor, barrister and politician (1778-1868). Brougham, elected to Parliament in 1810, served as the Lord Chancellor from 1830-1834 He is best remembered for his significant legal reforms, superior oratory skills and for designing the "Brougham", a popular closed four-wheel carriage. This clock keeps track of billable hours by the pull of a cord.
