A Large Howard Carved Walnut Model 89 Watchman Regulator Wall Clock, c. 1898, marked on the movement and painted metal dial "E. Howard & Co./Boston", sweep second hand, one side weight, original wood and brass pendulum, clock: height 78 in., width 26 1/2 in., depth 13 in.; dial diameter 16 in. Note: Now configured without the watchmen dials. Note: This highly accurate clock from one of America's greatest clock makers was originally configured to keep track of night watchmen. As the watchmen made their rounds they punched in at various stations. This sent a current to the clock mechanism which in turn kept track of the time on the indicator dials.
