A Large Mississippi Native American Pottery Storage Vessel, plum form with thumb pinched edge above a piecrust molded rim at shoulder, coil construction executed in fired red clay with ground oyster shells in composition, height 26 in., width 19 in., depth 19 in., weight 44 lbs Provenance: Excavated on the property of Victor Bosarge, Bayou Labatre, Alabama in 1948, and acquired in 2003 from his estate. Many other artifacts discovered at the Bosarge site were conserved by the Moundville Museum, Moundville.
