A Louisiana Grain-Painted Cypress and Pine Armoire, mid-19th c., the left side panel pencil inscribed "...lster", the rectangular ogee molded cornice above a plain frieze, the paneled doors opening to an interior containing a series of shelves and a belt of two drawers on a molded plinth, height 70 in., width 52 in., depth 17.5in. E2000/3000 Provenance: The armoire was purchased at Whitehall Plantation, Louisiana (Crawford Parish) in the 1970's, by Arthur and Helen Gilmartin, collectors of early Texas and Louisiana furniture. It descended in the family to John Gilmartin.
