A Minton Parian Porcelain Figural Group of "Ariadne and the Panther", after M.M. von Dannecker (1758-1841), c. 1847-1851, modelled for Minton by John Bell (1812-1895), as a companion to his "Una and the Lion" of 1851, height 14.5in., width 12.5in., depth 6 in. E1000-1500 Note: Dannecker's "Ariadne and the Panther" was one of the most celebrated sculptures of the second quarter of the 19th century.
