A Monumental Renaissance-Style Specimen Marble and Semiprecious Stone Center Table, the scalloped and molded top decoratively inlaid with lapis lazuli, malachite and mother-of-pearl, jasper, bloodstone, and turquoise within a black marble field; incurvate tripodal white marble base with fluted stem, the scrolled feet surmounted with winged cherubs, height 32 in., diameter 63 1/2 in. Note: The distinctive base for this table has a c. 1840 Italian "Fantasy Furniture" inspiration illustrated in Payne, 19th Century European Furniture, p. 436, pl. 1290
