Cresson, scalloped shaped back, one with floral carving, wide serpentine seat, scalloped seat rails on foliate cabriole legs with sabot feet, one with ornate hooves, height 36 1/2 in. E1200-1800 Note: The Cresson family supplied seat furniture to the Prince de Cond for the Palais-Bourbon and for Chantilly. Known makers from this family working in the early and mid-18th c. include brothers Jean and Charles Cresson, and second generation Michel, Louis, and Jean- Baptiste Cresson.
