A New Orleans Coin Silver Butter Cooler and Cover, c. 1853-61, Adolphe Himmel, maker for Hyde & Goodrich, retailer, incised marks "HYDE & GOODRICH" in arc above "H" above "NEW ORLEANS", in complementary arc on bottom of bowl, two-handled circular bowl with molded sides and raised on a conforming pedestal base with four scrolls supporting the bowl base, inverted papyrus band at rim, chasedfoliate scrolls on bowl sides and forming reserve for engraved script name "H.M. Cook", beaded borders on foot, the domed cover with chased border and a cast model of a recumbent cow, height 7in., width 7.5in. weight 19 troy ozs.
