A Newcomb College Art Pottery Matte Glaze Vase, 1919, decorated by Anna Frances Simpson (active Newcomb 1902-1929) with carved honeysuckle design around lip and extending down one side of the vase the flowers and leaves in pink and green underglazes, the ground in blue underglaze wash covered by a clear matte glaze, the base marked with Newcomb cipher, decorator and potter signatures (the Meyer stamp partially impressed), date letters KN 94, height 6.25in., diameter 3. 5in.
