Lot 228

Description:
A Newcomb College Art Pottery Matte Glaze Vase, before 1930, blue and green glaze with moon and palm trees modeled in low relief, now mounted as a table lamp with a drilled base, vase height 11 in.
-
Notes:
- Note: Though naturalistically rendered flora and landscapes were produced throughout the history of the Pottery, these motifs were becoming anachronistic by the late 1920s. Vases such as this one found a second life as table lamps once modifications to electrify them were complete.
