A Pair of American Classical Carved Mahogany Armchairs, c. 1820, Philadelphia, each with paired scroll crest above a scalloped back support, swan's neck scrolled arms, trapezoidal slip seat, straight seat rail, saber legs.
- Notes: Note: The scroll carved crest, large tablet and saber legs on these armchairs and the subsequent lot of side chairs en suite are similar to those on Philadelphia chairs held by the Philadelphia Museum of Art (acc. 1996) and the Metropolitan Museum of Art (acc. 1884.126).
