A Pair of Chinese Carved and Brass-Mounted Folding Horseshoeback Armchairs, Jiaoy, probably Huanhguali wood, the rounded, brass-mounted crest rail curved to form arms which terminate in outswept handrests supported by curved extensions of the brass-mounted front legs, and joined by an elaborately carved backsplat with three registers, the top flanked by narrow shaped flanges, the slatted seat with a carved front stretcher joining the back legs which terminate in a rectangular base stretcher, the front stretcher beneath an elaborate brass-mounted footrest.
