A Pair of Chinese Ivory Emperor and Empress Figures, Qianlong marks but probably early 20th c., intricately detailed male and female figures carved seated respectively upon a dragon and phoenix throne, raised on four webbed feet terminating in lion masks atop a shaped waisted pedestal, each base incised with two character Qianlong mark, heights 9 in., fitted wood stands, overall heights 10 1/2 in. Provenance: Natchez, MS Collection, acquired Rothschild's Antiques, New Orleans, LA, November 1970."
