A Pair of Coalbrookdale Cast Iron Settees, 19th c., ³oak and acorn² foliate scalloped back, circular arms terminating in lion head mounts, slatted wood seat, beribboned leaf seat rail, on cabriole legs ending in paw feet, height 37 in., width 52 in., depth 27 in. Note: Designed by John Bell, one of the Coalbrookdale principal sculptors, this bench form was number 119253 when registered at the British Public Record office on March 8, 1859. The pattern is illustrated as seat no. 30 in the 1875 Coalbrookdale catalogue, section III, page 256.
